Dressing up for a dinner party this weekend? No need to break the bank. Consignment shops are all the rage, and Fabulous Finds at Five Corners in Essex Junction is one of the best around. Why spend $50 on a blouse when you can get a whole outfit for the same price, with many of the pieces in new or nearly new condition. This shop, tucked away in the little mall on the railroad tracks is owned by a longtime clothes lover -- and people lover too. "It's a true pleasure owning this store," says Judith, "because I get to help people look better every day, and they don't have to spend much at all. That means we both go home happy!"

In addition to a variety of men's, women's, and teen's clothing, Judith offers a good selection of women's plus-sized clothing. "We've also started to get into some vintage pieces - those neat hats, scarves, and shoes that are so hot right now," she adds. "And best of all, we turn over everything in the store every two months, so not only can you get a great deal when things have been here a month or two, but you'll always find something new to try on."

It isn't just buyers who love Fabulous Finds. Consignors get a better deal on clothes they bring in than many other shops, receiving a 70/30 split between the store and the consignor. "Some of the other local shops only offer 60/40, so we are giving both our buyers and our sellers a good deal," adds Judith. She encourages customers to bring in anything they haven't worn in a season, and use that credit to buy something they really like. "It isn't just getting great deals on what you buy," says Judith, "if you bring in the things from your wardrobe that you no longer want, you can build your wardrobe on credit!"

Fabulous Finds is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Thursday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday from 9:30 PM - 4 PM. Please call to make an appointment to bring in consignment items.
