Walnut Sweet Treats (around the
edges in photo above)
Rinse in warm water to get rid of excess bitter "skin":
1/2 bag fresh walnuts
Add:
Sufficient vegetable oil to coat
Generous amount of white sugar- enough to be visibly coating each nut
(more or less depending on your taste)
Bake at 325 for about one half hour, stirring every 10 minutes or so. The
sugar burns easily so don't use a high heat and check them regularly.
Drain on brown bags. Be very careful as these are VERY hot. They are ready
when they are crunchy to bite. Yum yum yum.
