Why Fences?

You might ask, "why do you take so many photos of fences?" I might respond that I didn't actually know I liked fences so much until I noticed I had an awful lot of photographs of them. That being said, I'm very attracted to the texture of wood, and the beautiful angles that fences make against the landscape. They have a three dimensional sense about them because you can see what's behind the fence as well.

Many of these fences aren't meant to actually keep anything in that doesn't want to be in (any horse could jump over any of them), so they really are about something other than practicality.
