2005 Rare Mickey Miniature

An absolutely fabulous miniature made in Japan for Japanese children (as opposed to American kids). This very detailed item features Mickey sitting on top, a drawer opening button shaped like Mickey's hand in glove and a very wee can of Mickey food. Notice the white buttons on the drawer which are also on Mickey's pants. Other nice details include the ripped receipt, the Mickey Ears back, and the tiny white Mickey glove also by the digital display. It comes with a well designed box which features various other toys. Apparently this item is a "surprise" package, so the child doesn't know which of the three toys she will receive. It also includes lots of directions in Japanese.

This one is quite rare. Circa 1980's or earlier I'd guess. Walt Disney Productions, 1977, Made in Hong Kong.

I bought this at Disneyland in Los Angeles. (the highlight of my trip of course). What makes it unusual from similar non-Disney toys is that the pop up register tabs are Disney characters. Arco makes a standard cash register almost identical to this but without the Disney characters - it's pretty dull though. Arco, Circa 1980's. Made in Thailand.

I love this because it's designed to "travel" with a carrying handle, but still has the critical components like a tiny conveyer belt. Disney, Circa 1990's, China.

This older Donald Duck register plays "Freres Jacques" and the eyes rotate back and forth.  These are extremely rare. Illco, Made in Macau.

This older Mickey register plays "Farmer in the Dell" and the eyes rotate back and forth.  These are fairly rare, but not unobtainable. Illco, Made in Macau.

I don't generally go for sets (they take up a lot of space) but this one from 1980 was too cute to pass up. From the fun food to the working parts and 1980's prices, I was hooked.. Arco, made in Hong Kong.
