Rosie Hippo Wood
A stunning hand made wooden toy that
retails for $92 and worth every penny. |

2004 Disney Princess
A fabulous update of the earlier and
plainer version, this one is positively princesslike!
|

Wood Holgate
Cool shape sorter register. Very rare.
|

Wooden Save Your Pennies Bank
A vintage wooden bank.
|

Marx Bonus Bank with Prizes
Not only is this very charming bank
quite rare, but it includes a little prize cache on the
side. As you can imagine, the prizes are always long
gone, except in this wonderful example which sold for
about $175

Montgomery Ward 1966 Catalogue page showing Toy Cash
Registers
This page features the Marx Bonus
Bank, the Fisher Price Wooden cash register and
two Tom Thumb registers. These catalogue pages are
one of the only ways to date toy cash registers
for sure.

Winnie the PoohI love Pooh!
Unfortunately this beauty is only available from one
seller in the United Kingdom (so far) and they don't
ship to the U.S.
|

Glass Candy DishThis item is the
single most expensive cash register collectible I have
seen. Actual value is $500 to $600 as listed
in 'Collectors Guide to Candy Containers' by Deszo,
Poirier, and Poirier. I have seen this sell on eBay for
well over $400! More
Information & the Patent for this fascinating
item

Nantasy Fantasy Nantasy
Fantasy is a company that makes high end miniatures.
This highly detailed beauty retails for $190 and is
about 2" high.
|

Kit MiniatureThis is the only
"kit" I've seen for putting a cash register
together. This one is a United Kingdom miniature and
beautifully detailed. The kit retails for around $30 but
with postage from the U.K. plus having to put the darn
thing together and paint it, I decided it would have to
stay on my wish list.
|

Holly Hobby
Check out the detailed graphics on this
character beauty. I'm guessing it's circa 1970's based
on the button style. I've only seen two of these in over
five years, and both were wildly overpriced. Probably
those kooky Holly Hobby collectors.
Alternate design of the Holly Hobby. Design value
here is much lower.

Barbie Mini Moving
I lost the bid on this cutie because it
was going well over $15 which I thought was ridiculous.
It's cool because you can push the yellow bar on the
cash register to make the prices change in the price
window. An unusual trait because miniatures don't
usually "work."
|
Christmas Tree Mouse
Ornament
Another lost big fish on eBay. This is
particularly interesting because it's a Christmas
item.
|
Vintage Lil Folks
Children's story
characters such as Humpty Dumpty are featured on the
sides.. It's not that rare but sellers often start the
bidding at $75 or more. I've seen it sell for $30-$50
quite often..
|

Shonk Lucky Four Leaf Clover Bank
Shonk banks have a so so
shape, but the tin lithography is just amazing! This one
features four leaf clovers.

|
Happy Days
It's somewhat rare because of the beautiful
lithography and also because it has an unauthorized
drawing of Mickey Mouse on the back. It quite often
sells for near $100.
|
All Nations with Vintage Tin Lithography
Banks with tin lithography are not
that rare, but this is a stunning example of art deco
work.
|
Cigarette Lighter
How cool! Unfortunately all those crazy lighter collectors beat
me to the punch. I have never seen it since. |

Tape Measure
Another
really unusual piece. Here
again the crazy tape measure collectors beat me out for well
over $200. I guess it's cool, but it's not THAT cool... |

Copper Jewelry BoxWhat a
wonderfully unique idea! If I had any money left over
after buying toy cash registers, I'd buy jewelry to put
in this box.
|

Tin Mini
A lovely and detailed tin
miniature.
|

National Cast Iron BankThis is a one
of a kind cast iron bank made by National, one of the
premier cash register makers of this century. They
wanted (and didn't get) $250 for it so I'm waiting for
the price to go down. |

JH Stevens CrescentThis is an
extremely rare bank attributed to JH Stevens according
to the Auctioneers. It sold for over $400.

|

Cast Iron Still Bank
Uncommon circa 1890's J & E Stevens
Company Cast Iron Still Bank, called the "Junior
Cash" Bank. It measures 4 1/4" tall and 3
1/2" x 3" at the base. The trap for removing
the money in the bank is accessed through a hinged panel
on the front of the cash register (where the face of the
register drawer would be located). Seller said it had a
"Japanned" surface, which means its covered
with a coat of hard, brilliant varnish, in the manner of
the Japanese. Andy Moore's Penny Bank Book, 2000,
estimates the value at $185.00.

This JH Stevens Junior bank isn't all that rare, but
this painted version is.
|

Hubley
Beautifully detailed etching on the
front make this a rare and special bank.
|

Plastic Canvas PatternThis is a
pattern kit for this little cash register, not unlike a
needlepoint kit. Why anyone would make this item is
beyond me however, and I am surely too lazy to make it
myself. |

Ben Franklin Gold Version
I have the Ben Franklin Musical version
of this in silver, but I do think this rare gold version
is very pretty. Finding it in mint condition is quite
the challenge however.
|

Snow White Dime BankI don't
generally collect dime banks, but I am a fan of Snow
White. This is a rare one and often sells for quite a
bit.
